Figure Sketches in Watercolor

These quick figure studies in watercolor are from Bob Kato's costumed drawing sessions at
DisneyToon Studios back in 2012 or 2013. These were a lot of fun to do,
but I sure went through a lot of watercolor paper.

 Enough is Enough

This is my take on Japan's ongoing "scientific" whaling. They find every loophole in the system to justify their continued whaling program and outright disregard the international laws against whaling, even in protected waters. They just need to stop slaughtering these intelligent and majestic creatures.

Imaginary Landscape
6x8, oil on canvas

With these two I'm trying to paint more freely and confidently as an expression of my soul.
I want to capture the spirit of an idea, concept or subject.

It was so incredibleand inspirational to be there hiking and driving around
taking pictures and scouting great views to paint.
These paintings were all done on location, in "plein air."
