Some of these got an additional coating of sand as gusts of wind would suddenly kick up.

In July of 2013 I went on an amazing painting vacation to Yosemite National Park 
with my family. I'm so grateful they let me go off on my own to paint. 
It was so incredibleand inspirational to be there hiking and driving around 
taking pictures and scouting great views to paint. 
These paintings were all done on location, in "plein air."

These two paintings were done only two days apart in July of 2012 with a temperature difference of about 40 degrees. I was quite thankful for the cooler day.

These are some costumed figure drawings from 2003 done with a marker pen. I recently merged the drawings digitally onto handmade parchment paper stained with coffee and tea to give the pirates an aged antique look.
